John Lodge installed as LAFD President for 2015-16

The Annual General Meeting of the LAFD was held on 23rd April 2015 at the Park Tower Hotel in Knightsbridge.

During the meeting outgoing President Sarah Farrow (T. Cribb & Sons) presented the chain of office to John Lodge of Lodge Brothers. John has been a strong supporter of the LAFD for many years, including past service as Treasurer and an earlier term as President.

Thanking members of the Executive for their invaluable support, Sarah reflected on her year in office. Recalling the trepidation with which she had accepted her election, Sarah nonetheless had thoroughly enjoyed her year and had been proud to represent the Association at many events.

During the meeting she presented a cheque to Jean Ryan of the Newham Riding for the Disabled charity, which had been Sarah’s selection for the President’s nominated charity last year . Run by volunteers and funded by donations and its own small fund-raising activities, the charity offers children both riding experiences and valuable opportunities to interact with horses and ponies. Jean was delighted to receive the donation, which would be used to purchase additional equipment.
